God’s Love and the Truth About Biblical Marriage

The Bible is clear in its teachings about love, relationships, and God’s design for marriage. From the beginning, God established the union between one man and one woman as His divine plan. While same-sex attraction and addiction may be struggles for many, God’s love remains constant. He hates sin but loves the people He created, always extending His grace and mercy to bring mankind back to His original design.
1. God’s Design for Marriage
God created marriage to be a sacred covenant between a man and a woman. Genesis 2:24 (KJV) states, "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." This foundational scripture shows that God ordained marriage to be between male (assignment at birth) and female (assignment at birth), reflecting His perfect order. Any other marraige or relationship outside of this, is not the standard or creative plan of the Almighty God. It is of the person who is against God, satan. John 8:44 (NLT) states, "For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies."
2. The Bible’s Warning Against Same-Sex Relations
Throughout scripture, God warns against sexual immorality, including same-sex relationships. Leviticus 18:22 (KJV) declares, "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." This verse is a direct statement about God’s view on same-sex relations, showing that it goes against His intended purpose for human relationships.
3. God’s Love Extends to All People
While God condemns sin, He never stops loving His creation. Romans 5:8 (KJV) reminds us, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." No matter the struggle, God’s love remains. He desires for all people to turn to Him, receive His grace, and walk in His truth.
4. The Call to Repentance and Transformation
God’s love is not just about acceptance—it is about transformation. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (KJV) says, "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind... And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." This passage shows that through Christ, people can be cleansed and restored to God’s intended way of living.
5. Jesus Came to Offer Redemption
God’s love for the world is so great that He sent Jesus to redeem mankind. John 3:16 (KJV) declares, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." We cannot take what Jesus did for granted. His sacrifice was meant to free us from sin and bring us back into alignment with God’s will.
God’s Love Calls Us to His Truth
God’s love is not about condemnation—it is about redemption. God loves a good comeback story. He desires for all people to turn away from sin and embrace His truth. Every day, His love extends to give mankind the chance to return to the way He ordained love—one man with one woman in a holy union.
No matter the struggle, God’s grace is available. He calls everyone to repentance, offering forgiveness, healing, and restoration. His love is greater than any sin, and through Jesus Christ, we can walk in the fullness of His truth.
