How many times have we been in a situation where we needed to exchange a larger banknote for smaller ones to make a purchase or bless someone in need? Just the other day, I needed to make a purchase for medications, but the electronic services were down, and the sign read, "Cash only." I handed over a $50 bill, and the person behind the counter asked, "Do you have anything smaller?" I turned to others in line, asking for change, but no one had it. I had to leave the purchase behind?
Just as we seek change in the physical sense, there are moments in life when we desperately need spiritual and emotional change. The good news is that Jesus Christ can make change anytime we need it. Jesus always has the exact amount needed for the purchases we need in life. Dealing with poverty? His blood. Facing emotional damage? His blood. Struggling with health issues? His blood. Colossians 1:14 (KJV) declares, "In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins." His sacrifice covers every need, providing healing, restoration, and breakthrough. Whenever life demands more than we have, Jesus supplies exactly what is required.
No matter how broken, lost, or burdened we may feel, Jesus has the power to transform our circumstances. Ezekiel 36:26 (KJV) declares, "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." He takes the hardened, weary heart and replaces it with one full of His love and grace.
Jesus can change sorrow into joy, despair into hope, and weakness into strength. He is always ready to step in and provide what we need. Just as a cashier exchanges money to make a transaction possible, Christ exchanges our burdens for His peace, our failures for His redemption, and our brokenness for His healing.
Whenever you need change, turn to Him—He is always ready to provide.
Oh, by the way, I did come back later to make the purchase I left in the store and to get there and all the electronic services were back in service. Sometimes you have to go the extra mile to do what is needed, to get what you need. In the blessing, I was able to use a coupon to get the cost of the medication $10.00 less. It pays to trust God to make all things well.
