God does not limit His calling based on age. Whether young or old, He equips and empowers those who are willing to stand for the growth of His church and the advancement of His kingdom. Throughout scripture, we see examples of individuals of all ages being used by God to fulfill His divine purpose.

God Uses the Young

Many believe that youth means inexperience, but God sees potential. Jeremiah 1:7 (KJV) says, "But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak." Jeremiah thought he was too young, but God assured him that his age did not disqualify him.

David was just a boy when he defeated Goliath. 1 Samuel 17:45 (KJV) says, "Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts." His faith, not his age, made him victorious.

God Uses the Elderly

Age does not mean retirement from God’s work. Abraham was old when God fulfilled His promise to make him the father of many nations. Genesis 21:2 (KJV) says, "For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him." Even when it seemed impossible, God proved that His promises are not bound by time.

Moses was 80 years old when God called him to lead Israel out of Egypt. Exodus 7:7 (KJV) states, "And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh."* His age did not prevent him from fulfilling God’s mission.

God Calls All Who Are Willing

God does not look at age—He looks at the heart. Acts 2:17 (KJV) says, "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams." His Spirit is available to all who seek Him.

Conclusion: I Am Ready to Do God’s Will

No matter my age, I am counted among those who stand for the growth of the church. Whether young or old, God has placed His purpose in me, and I will boldly walk in His calling. He qualifies those He calls, and I am age-appropriate to do His will!
