Our words have power. The Bible teaches that what we speak can bring life or destruction. Many times, we unknowingly block our own blessings by speaking negatively, doubting God’s promises, or declaring defeat instead of victory.
Key Scripture:
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." (Proverbs 18:21, KJV)
The Power of Words
God created the world through His spoken word, and He has given us the ability to shape our lives through what we say. When we speak faith, we activate blessings. When we speak doubt, we hinder what God wants to do in our lives.
Supporting Scriptures:
"Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways." (Job 22:28, KJV)
"Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." (Ephesians 4:29, KJV)
How Words Can Block Blessings
Speaking Doubt Instead of Faith – When we say, "I’ll never succeed," or "God won’t answer me," we limit His power in our lives.
Complaining Instead of Praising – Gratitude opens doors, but complaining shuts them.
Declaring Fear Instead of Trust – Fear weakens faith, but trust in God strengthens it.
Supporting Scripture:
"For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." (Matthew 12:37, KJV)
Final Encouragement
Speak life. Speak faith. Speak victory. Your words shape your future—choose to declare God’s promises and watch His blessings unfold.
