Seek God First in All You Do

In a world filled with distractions, responsibilities, and endless choices, it is easy to rely on our own understanding. However, the Bible teaches us that true success, peace, and fulfillment come when we seek God first in all we do. When we prioritize Him, He directs our paths, provides wisdom, and ensures that everything falls into place according to His divine plan.

The Importance of Seeking God First

1. God Provides Direction Life is full of decisions—some small, some life-changing. When we seek God first, He guides us in the right direction. Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) says, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

Instead of relying on our own limited knowledge, we must trust God to lead us. His wisdom surpasses ours, and He knows what is best for us.

2. Seeking God Brings Peace Many people struggle with anxiety and uncertainty, but when we seek God first, He gives us peace. Matthew 6:33 (KJV) reminds us, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

When we focus on God, He takes care of our needs. We don’t have to worry about tomorrow because He is already working everything out for our good.

3. God Opens Doors and Blesses Us When we put God first, He blesses our efforts and opens doors that no one can shut. Psalm 37:4 (KJV) says, "Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."

Seeking God aligns our desires with His will, ensuring that we receive blessings that are meant for us.

4. Seeking God Strengthens Our Faith The more we seek God, the stronger our faith becomes. Spending time in prayer, reading His Word, and worshiping Him deepens our relationship with Him. Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) says, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

Faith grows when we consistently seek God, trust Him, and walk in obedience.

A Prayer to Seek God First

Heavenly Father,

I come before You today, acknowledging that I need You in every area of my life. Lord, I desire to seek You first in all that I do. Help me to trust in Your wisdom, lean on Your understanding, and follow Your guidance.

Your Word says in Matthew 6:33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." I believe that when I put You first, You will take care of my needs, open doors, and bless me beyond measure.

Father, remove any distractions that keep me from focusing on You. Strengthen my faith, increase my desire to spend time in Your presence, and help me to walk in obedience to Your will.

Thank You for Your love, Your grace, and Your faithfulness. I surrender my plans to You and trust that You will lead me in the right direction.
