A Bible Study on Who Jesus Is and Why He Changes Everything
Jesus Christ is more than a name. He is the Savior—the One who redeems, heals, forgives, and transforms. His impact on humanity is unmatched, His love beyond comprehension. Whether someone is searching for truth, struggling with doubts, or simply wants to go deeper in faith, understanding who Jesus is can shift everything.
In this study, let’s break down:
Who Jesus is according to Scripture
Why He came to save us
How His life, death, and resurrection change everything
Who Is Jesus?
Some people see Jesus as a great teacher. Others see Him as a prophet or a moral example. But Scripture makes it clear—Jesus is God in human form.
John 1:1, 14 says: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us."
Jesus has always existed. He wasn’t just a random miracle worker—He is God in the flesh, stepping into history to be with us.
Colossians 1:15-17 calls Him “the image of the invisible God” and states that all things were made through Him.
Hebrews 1:3 says Jesus is “the radiance of God's glory” and “the exact representation of his being.”
Jesus isn’t just a good man—He is God Himself, full of love, power, and authority.
Why Did Jesus Come?
So if Jesus is God, why did He come to earth? He had one mission: to save mankind.
1. He Came to Reveal the Truth
People have always wrestled with questions: Who is God? How do I know Him? Is He real? Jesus came to make God known in a way people could see and understand.
John 14:6—"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
John 8:32—"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
Jesus came to cut through confusion and show the truth about God—His love, His justice, and His desire for a relationship with us.
2. He Came to Save Us from Sin
Sin separates us from God. No matter how hard people try to be good, sin is always there—selfishness, pride, greed, anger. Instead of leaving people lost in their mistakes, Jesus paid the price to bring forgiveness.
Romans 3:23—"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Romans 6:23—"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Jesus took the punishment people deserved. He lived a perfect life, then gave that life as a sacrifice to make forgiveness possible.
3.The Cross: The Greatest Act of Love
Jesus’ death on the cross wasn’t just a tragedy—it was the greatest act of love in history.
John 3:16—"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Romans 5:8—"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Jesus willingly endured betrayal, pain, and death because He loved us too much to let sin win. He took humanity’s punishment, offering redemption in its place.
4.The Resurrection: Proof That Jesus Wins
The cross would have been meaningless if it ended in death. But three days later, Jesus rose from the dead, proving His victory over sin, death, and evil.
Matthew 28:6—"He is not here; he has risen, just as he said."
1 Corinthians 15:17—"And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins."
Jesus’ resurrection means: ✔ Sin doesn’t have the final say ✔ Death isn’t the end ✔ His promises are real
The same power that raised Jesus is still alive today—working in hearts, healing brokenness, and transforming lives.
5.What Does This Mean for You?
Knowing Jesus isn’t just about reading Bible verses. It’s about a personal relationship.
If Jesus conquered sin, death, and darkness, it means:
You don’t have to carry guilt forever—He offers forgiveness.
You don’t have to live afraid—He brings peace.
You don’t have to earn His love—He already loves you completely.
Romans 10:9 says: "If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Jesus isn’t distant or unreachable. He is near, offering grace, hope, and new life.
Conclusion
Jesus Christ is the Savior of all mankind—the One who defeated sin, conquered death, and invites everyone into a life-changing relationship. His love is personal, His sacrifice is real, and His power is still working today.
Whatever someone is facing—pain, doubt, mistakes—Jesus is the answer. He is calling, waiting, and ready to change everything for those who trust in Him.
Will you answer His call?
