1. Praise & Worship – Begin by honoring God
Start by acknowledging who God is and praising Him for His goodness, love, and faithfulness. "Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him; bless His name!" (Psalm 100:4)
Example: "Heavenly Father, You are holy and mighty. I praise You for Your unfailing love and mercy. You are my refuge and strength, and I worship You today."
2. Confession – Seek forgiveness and cleansing
Confess any sins and ask for God’s forgiveness, knowing He is faithful to cleanse and restore. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)
Example: "Lord, I come before You humbly, acknowledging my shortcomings. Forgive me for the times I have fallen short. Cleanse my heart and renew a right spirit within me."
3. Thanksgiving – Express gratitude
Thank God for His blessings, provision, and answered prayers. "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
Example: "Father, I thank You for Your grace, for the breath in my lungs, and for the many ways You provide for me daily. I am grateful for Your presence in my life."
4. Supplication – Present your requests
Ask God for guidance, strength, healing, or provision for yourself and others. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." (Philippians 4:6)
Example: "Lord, I lift up my burdens to You. Grant me wisdom in my decisions, peace in my heart, and strength to face challenges. I also pray for my loved ones—may Your hand be upon them."
5. Surrender & Trust – Commit everything to God
End by surrendering your will to God and trusting in His perfect plan. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Example: "Father, I surrender all to You. I trust that You are working all things for my good. Let Your will be done in my life, and may I walk in faith and obedience."
Closing in Jesus' Name
End your prayer in the name of Jesus, as He is our mediator. "And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." (John 14:13)
Example: "I pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen."
By following this structure, your prayers can be more intentional, heartfelt, and aligned with biblical principles.
